Christmas in Emmerdale is always explosive, and the 2025 festive season will be no different. Once again, the Dales will be delivering shocking twists and deadly yuletide drama while we tuck into our turkey. But, don’t worry – our Christmas preview has got everything you need to know.

While Christmas is still a couple weeks away, we already know some of the storylines that will be taking centre stage over the festive break.

‘Threat to life’ for Robert and Aaron

Ryan Hawley, who plays Robert in the show, confirmed that the Robron drama will continue into the festive season.

“It’s not a very easy time for Aaron and Robert this December,” Ryan told Inside Soap.

“The events leading up to Christmas and New Year into the Corriedale special are very high stakes. Robert’s state of mind around Christmas is panic, very anxious and there is a threat to life this Christmas.”

We know that someone is targeting them and when Robert goes missing on Christmas Day, Aaron begins to seriously panic…

Yuletide drama for Paddy, Mandy and Bear

Lisa Riley, who plays Emmerdale’s Mandy Dingle has revealed that there is plenty of drama heading for her character this Christmas.

She told express.co.uk: “Over Christmas, it’s all about finding Bear. It’s going to be really heartbreaking. His story is going to go on for a long time. You’re going to see Mandy and Paddy really lean on each other.

“You can guarantee that with the Dingles, there’s always drama. Dingle all the way, that’s Christmas.”

It’s going to be lonesome for Kim this Christmas in Emmerdale

Things are looking bleak for Kim Tate over Christmas. After her accident that saw her leg caught in a snare and Ice badly injured, Kim has a major falling out with Joe over the horse. She kicks him out.

Alone at Home Farm, Kim refuses his attempts to reconcile and cancels their family Christmas dinner order.

But with Kim all alone and still injured, she has another accident that sees her unable to get up. Calling for help, she is annoyed when Lydia comes and she banishes her friend. But Lydia sticks around.

However when Joe tries again to make amends Kim is having none of it. She kicks him out and faces Christmas all alone.

Meanwhile, Joe spends Christmas somewhere ‘unexpected’ – could it have anything to do with fans’ prediction of a hot new romance with Belle?

Charity’s secret set to explode

Vanessa and Charity find themselves spending Christmas together, but after Charity’s almost-confession, she is worried what V will reveal.

Christmas dinner is pretty awkward and Charity panics as Vanessa gets drunker and drunker…

Ray dreams of better while Ceila forces him to do the unthinkable in Emmerdale this Christmas

Ray is desperate to have his fantasy Christmas, snuggled up with Laurel by is side. But the reality is much darker.

Celia is forcing him to leave and as they pack up, Bear is worried about being left behind. Ray assures him that won’t be the case.

Bear encourages Ray to seize happiness with Laurel. But when Ray is given a truly terrible job by his mother, he knows his fresh start is out of reach. What has he been tasked to do? And will it result in the end of the evil pair at last?

Ruby takes centre stage

Ruby Miligan will also take centre stage in this year’s Christmas storylines in Emmerdale.

Beth Cordingly, who plays Ruby, told Inside Soap that her character will be providing some light relief this festive season.

“Ruby has something fun that happens, which I think the viewers will enjoy. It involves a bit of Manpreet, Caleb getting annoyed – and Ruby trying to get herself out of trouble…”
