The Washington DC Open. Coverage of day one of the WTA 500 and ATP 500 event, a hard-court tournament held at William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center in the USA. Cameron Norrie came out on top in an all-British contest against Billy Harris in the first round of last year's competition, with a 6-3, 7-6 victory seeing him progress to the second round. His compatriot Dan Evans gained a wild card entry to the event and made the most of it as he booked his place in round two with 3-6 6-4 6-3 win over Belgium's Zizou Bergs
