Resource manager Alixe and trainee carpenter Loy have six months to transform a two-bedroom semi in Abercarn, south Wales, into a family home. It's not in bad condition, but Alixe and Loy cross swords over whether to knock through the living room. They compromise by putting a skylight into the small dark kitchen.
