The Washington DC Open. Coverage of day three of the WTA 500 and ATP 500 event, a hard-court tournament held at William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center in the USA. All three of the British players involved in the second round of last year's competition emerged victorious, with Emma Raducanu beating four-time Grand slam champion Naomi Osaka in straight sets, while Dan Evans triumphed 6-4 6-4 over Alex Michelsen, and Cameron Norrie beat the number two seed Lorenzo Musetti 3-6 6-2 6-3. Perhaps the most notable victory was claimed by 2021 US Open runner-up Leylah Fernandez, who eliminated the number one seed Jessica Pegula in a see-saw encounter that finished 6-3 1-6 7-5 in her favour
