The concluding coverage of day one of the Grand Slam tournament from the All England Club, as the men's and ladies' first-round singles matches continue. Home favourite Katie Boulter got off to a winning start on Centre Court 12 months ago with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 victory over ninth seed Paula Badosa. She was followed by Arthur Rinderknech and recently crowned French Open champion Alexander Zverev, who who were level at 7-6, 6-7 after two attritional sets when play was suspended for the day. Elsewhere, on the No. 3 Court, unseeded Kamil Majchrzak prevailed in a five-set epic against 2021 runner-up Matteo Berrettini. The duration of that match meant that the scheuled contest between Kate?ina Siniaková and fifth seed Zheng Qinwen was postponed until the following day
