Mulder and Scully are contacted by a Nasa employee who claims someone is trying to sabotage a space shuttle mission. The investigation gives Mulder the chance to meet his childhood hero, a former astronaut now in charge of mission control. However, he has fallen under the influence of an alien intelligence that does not want humans exploring space - placing the shuttle crew's lives on the line
