Brenda is brought to casualty with a swollen knee, and resident Doctor Joe Marks takes over her care. A van pulls into the car park with an injured man in the back. Paramedics immediately take 23-year-old plumber Jake to resus, where it's suspected that he has badly broken his ankle. Next, patient Alistair has been injured in a gas explosion at work. Resident Doctor Ellen Bradshaw needs to find out the extent of the damage. In Paediatrics, patient numbers are swelling. Among them is three-year-old Frankie who, despite a head injury, is full of beans, which could prove challenging for Nurse Charlie
