Wildlife cameraman Gordon Buchanan follows a family of wild black bears for a year. He arrives in the forests of Minnesota in spring to observe the animals emerging from their dens. However, before he can start filming, he faces the challenge of earning their trust and overcoming his own fear of the creatures, which have a dangerous reputation
