In early April 2010, 15-year-old footballer Toyosi Shittabey was stabbed to death as he walked home with friends in Tyrellstown, Dublin. The death of Nigerian born Toyosi is among the first racist murders to go to trial in Ireland and his death sparked widespread outcry relating to racism in Ireland
