Staff in Major Trauma at Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham are overstretched and pushed to the limit as they face ever-increasing patient numbers. Jeremy and Patricia are admitted with multiple injuries following a high-speed car crash. Doctors are concerned that Jeremy's history of cancer could affect his recovery, while the emergency team tries to determine the full extent of Patricia's spinal injury. Andrew, 45, is in resus after falling three metres from a ladder at work and seriously fracturing his ankle. Medics need to re-align his bones before emergency surgery
