As the trial of local teenager Gary Bell approaches, Sidney and Geordie find themselves in disagreement regarding his guilt. Meanwhile, a man is convinced that his dead wife is haunting his home and stable yards, and implores Sidney to come to his estate and perform an exorcism for him. The vicar offers prayers and counsel, but when the man is found hanged in the exact same spot in which his wife died, Sidney and Geordie are united by a shared goal as they investigate his suicide.
