Home favourite Emma Raducanu's tournament came to an end at this stage last year on Centre Court when she was beaten 7-6, 6-4 by Aryna Sabalenka. Over on the No.1 Court, doubles specialist Elise Mertens showed she can also be a force in singles competition when she claimed an impressive 6-1, 7-6 victory over two-time semi-finalist here Elina Svitolina
