Part one of two. Escaping from postwar Europe, Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann established a new life in Argentina, where he met Dutch journalist and fellow Nazi Willem Sassen. In Buenos Aires in 1957, they recorded a comprehensive account of his career, but the tapes disappeared when Eichmann was captured and taken to stand trial in Jerusalem. Excerpts of his interview surfaced in Life magazine, and Israeli prosecutor Gideon Hausner was determined to use Eichmann's recorded confession as evidence during the trial
