Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer visit the Alcorn family in Peebles in the Scottish Borders. The family of four lives in a conservation area and while dad Dave loves their grey-stone Victorian villa for its picture-book charm, mum Amy despises its lack of practicality. With no off-road parking, no third bedroom and no downstairs bathroom - not to mention the small, draughty kitchen - she has quite a list. Would it be best to simply move on to one of the new properties picked out by Phil, or can Kirstie come up with a way of making their home work?
