The decapitated corpse of an ambulance driver disappears from a hospital morgue. Scully suspects body snatchers, but Mulder discovers evidence the body just walked away. Examination of the severed head reveals the man was suffering from terminal cancer when he died, leaving Mulder convinced this is a new stage of human evolution - a creature that absorbs cancerous cells to survive
