A gunslinger who has turned his back on violence joins a wagon train as rumours circulate of a Native American uprising. As they approach a seemingly deserted fort, they learn a mutinous former soldier has formed a gang of bandits to stir up trouble, leaving the gunfighter with the task of protecting the settlers.
