Scully discovers she has developed cancer,and meets a man investigating UFO sightings. He tells her all the woman abducted along with her have died of the condition - except one, who is being treated by a mysterious doctor. Mulder hopes to make a deal with the Cigarette Smoking Man to get some answers about Scully's condition, but finds neither the doctor nor the UFO expert are who they claim to be
