Eventual champion Jannik Sinner was last up on Centre Court at this stage 12 months ago, and he claimed a 6-1, 6-1, 6-3 victory over Aleksandar Vukic. There was disappointment for home favourite and fourth seed Jack Draper over on the No.1 Court, when he was beaten 6-4, 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 by 2017 finalist Marin Cilic. Elsewhere, the match between 10th seed Ben Shelton and Rinky Hijikata had play suspended while Shelton held a slender 6-2, 7-5, 5-4 lead
