Emma and Nigel Forde and their three boys have lived in their Essex house for the past seven years, but after a bad experience with a bathroom fitting they have let the maintenance of the family home slide, which means broken kitchen doors and some rather unusual curtains. Nigel thinks it's time to wave the white flag and sell up, but Emma wants some real investment to turn around the house she loves. Kirstie Allsopp has plenty of refurbishment ideas, while Phil Spencer has already found some viable replacement homes to buy. Will the Fordes decide to stay or go?
