An ancient South American urn is transported from Ecuador to the US in the face of political protest, and soon people connected to the artefact start being killed. Mulder believes the deaths are the result of a curse placed on the urn according to ancient legends, while Scully suspects it is the work of militants who object to the artefact leaving the country
