Ben found out the truth

In today’s early ITVX episode of Coronation Street (Thursday, May 14), Maggie Driscoll was forced to tell Ben that she killed his dad.

Megan Walsh phoned Maggie up from the prison and blackmailed her. If Maggie didn’t get Will to retract his statement, then she’d expose Maggie’s murder secret.

With no other options, Maggie then decided to tell Ben all about how his dad Alan really died.

Megan’s blackmail of Maggie Driscoll in Coronation Street

Maggie Driscoll was receiving blackmail messages and threats from all angles today, and she was certainly feeling the pressure.

With Will no longer wanting to move to Scotland with his mum, Ben and Maggie agreed that they’d wait a few days before telling Melanie this. Of course, with the plan falling through, Melanie could very easily spill Maggie’s murder secret.

With the worry of what Melanie might say playing on her mind, Maggie then received a phone call from Megan. Megan was calling from the prison after just being charged following Will’s report of being groomed by her.

Megan warned Maggie that if she didn’t get Will to retract his statement and say that he had made the whole thing up, then she’d make sure her family knew all about the murder of her husband.

She then told him about Melanie’s threats and why this was the reason for her pushing for Will to move away. She then revealed that she never had the best relationship with Ben’s dad Alan, and that Finlay had seen them arguing on the day of his death.

Maggie then admitted to pushing Alan slightly, and before she knew it, he had fallen down the stairs and died. She never just found him like that.

Ben was devastated that both Maggie and his brother Fin would keep this from him. Maggie had killed the man he had grown up to believe was his dad. First, it was the Jim secret, and now this.

Realising that she had broken Ben’s trust, Maggie then checked herself into the Chariot Square Hotel as she told Debbie that she’d lied to Ben for all of his life. He might never trust her again.

But, will Ben learn to forgive Maggie? Is she hiding anything else from him?
