But fans were convinced that their fighting would soon turn into passion… and they were right! Ian went to check on Elaine in EastEnders (Credit: BBC) Ian won the council election Today’s EastEnders saw Ian and Elaine fighting it out at the polling station. As Walford residents cast their votes, the pair waited with bated breath to see who would be crowned the winner. But while Elaine tried to put on a brave face after Ian and Bea’s smear campaign video, Ian was doing his best to try to make amends. In a bid to show Elaine how sorry he was, Ian made another video, retracting his previous claims. However, it was too little too late for Elaine, and she told Ian just how hurt she was by his actions. Even Linda couldn’t help but have a dig at Ian. She laid into him for upsetting Elaine, but Elaine was more interested in finding out who her daughter had spent the night with the evening before. Although Elaine was gracious in defeat, Ian still felt awful for sabotaging her campaign and didn’t feel much like celebrating. She was surprised to see him, commenting that he should be at his victory party. However, Ian said he still felt awful and wanted to check she was okay. But Elaine was still finding it hard to forgive Ian, and the pair fought again. As tensions started rising, Ian made a dig about the video hurting Elaine’s feelings. After his kiss with Elaine, and then seeing a newspaper article which incorrectly names him and Bea as husband and wife, Ian realises he needs to call time on his new relationship. Bea doesn’t take the news well, of course, and Ian is shocked by her reaction. However, his troubles are only just beginning. He then discovers that Bea paid for votes in the council election using a fraudulent credit card in Honey’s name. Ian heads over to Honey’s house to confront Bea, and soon she is forced to confess everything. Bea doesn’t take kindly to being caught out, and she is soon plotting a dangerous revenge plan. But with Ian now single again, could this pave the way for Ian and Elaine to get together? Or will Bea’s plan stop any romance in its tracks? What else happened in EastEnders today? Today's EastEnders now only saw Ian and Elaine share a kiss, but Linda took great joy in making Max jealous. Nicola put pressure on George to let Eddie move in, while Denise went to see her GP. Linda made Max jealous After Max made digs about hearing her with another man the night before, Linda got fed up with him playing the green-eyed monster. Determined to teach him a lesson, she went to his birthday party with Grant on her arm, knowing it would stir the pot. Her plan worked a treat. Max tried to pick a fight with Grant, but he refused to take the bait. Later, still smarting over seeing Linda and Grant together, Max asked Cindy to move in with him. Nicola made a deal with the devil Nicola decided she needed Eddie's cash, so she met with his probation officer. She lied that she was a friend of the family, but her plan almost fell apart when she was told that George would have to give permission for Eddie to move in with her. Knowing she needed George on side, Nicola put pressure on him at home, trying to convince him that letting his dad stay with them was the right thing to do. Denise went to the doctors Denise went to see her GP after Sam put pressure on her to get medical advice. Sam went to check on Denise later that day and discovered the GP had suggested the tiredness was likely due to an iron deficiency. However, Denise revealed that she'd had a blood test just in case.
