EastEnders favourites Penny and Vinny might have weathered the Suki-shaped storm this week, putting Vinny’s mum in her place when she tried to split them up.
However, next week sees heartbreak hit the couple when a huge secret is revealed that threatens everything.
Vinny commits to Penny and their baby
Today’s EastEnders saw Penny struggling with the idea that Vinny had put a deposit down on a shop for her. Despite always dreaming of having her own store, Penny wondered if it was too much, too soon.
Gina didn’t help, telling Penny that Vinny’s eagerness to please was a big red flag in their relationship. However, Harry was surprisingly the voice of reason and told Penny that she might be reluctant to accept Vinny’s grand gesture because she was scared the shop would not be a success.
Realising that she needed to embrace things that scared her, Penny told Vinny that she would like to go ahead with the shop purchase. But what Vinny hadn’t told her was that they would need Suki to sign on the dotted line to release some cash from the Panesar empire.
It won’t come as a surprise to anyone that Suki hit the roof, claiming once again that Penny was only after Vinny’s money.
Vinny pointed out that this was all his idea and had nothing to do with Penny. But Suki refused to apologise – or hand over the family money for the couple’s new business venture.
At a loss over how to get the money for the shop purchase, Vinny told Penny that he would use his own contacts to secure the funds. She was grateful and realised that Vinny really did see them being together forever.
The drama continues for Penny in EastEnders next week
Next week will see Penny and Vinny’s cute romance come crashing down. Penny heads off to her first baby scan. But once there, she finds out that the pregnancy is further along than she thought.
Panicking Penny realises this means the baby might be Harry’s after she slept with him before he went into rehab. However, Penny keeps the news to herself.
Vinny is none the wiser as the couple show off their baby scan to their family. And Penny is left with an enormous decision to make.
What will she do now that she knows Vinny isn’t the dad?
This Morning shake-up: Cat Deeley replaced by Angela Scanlon as co-star Ben Shephard responds
The ITV daytime show had only just welcomed Cat and Ben back from their half-term break yesterday (February 23). But after just one episode, Cat was missing from the sofa once again.

Cat Deeley replaced by Angela Scanlon on This Morning
Ahead of today’s instalment of This Morning, ITV’s continuity announcer had indicated that both Cat and Ben would be presenting. However, when the programme began, Ben was joined by Angela instead.
Ben didn’t explain the reason for Cat’s absence, but he hinted she would be away for a few days, joking that Angela would be his “play date”.
Chatting on air, Ben asked Angela how her half-term had been. She described it as a “boxing match” before quickly clarifying that it had been more of a “lovely, cuddly boxing match”.
Angela shares two daughters — Ruby Ellen, seven, and Marnie Fae, four — with her husband Roy Horgan, whom she married in 2014. She also revealed that Ruby turns eight tomorrow (February 25).
TV Guide has contacted ITV for comment regarding Cat’s absence.

'Deeley’s done a runner!'
Following Monday’s show, Ben shared a light-hearted video teasing Tuesday’s episode.
“Deeley’s done a runner!” he joked, before running through the upcoming guest list, which includes Louise Redknapp and Martin Lewis.
He also confirmed Cat wouldn’t be by his side, telling followers he would have a “special playmate for a play date”.
“The gorgeous Angela Scanlon will be joining me as well!” he added.
Viewers reaction
Viewers quickly took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts on Cat’s no-show.
“The continuity announcer obvs didn’t get the memo re Cat #ThisMorning,” one person wrote.
“No Cat today? #ThisMorning,” another asked.
A third commented: “No cackling Cat today… thank God… Now to get rid of Shephard #ThisMorning.”
Others, however, were more complimentary about Angela’s appearance, with one viewer saying: “I’m quite liking Angela presenting today.”
