Cain decides to have the operation as Emmerdale fans beg: 'Can we please stop now'

It was a rollercoaster of emotions for Cain and Moira Dingle in Emmerdale tonight as a special episode unpicked their relationship drama as they hit rock bottom.

Fortunately they seemed to find peace when Cain went back on his decision about the surgery.

And for fans that’s enough now. They have begged Emmerdale not to go any further. But will it happen?

Cain and Moira in crisis in Emmerdale

On Wednesday (April 29) the soap aired a special episode focusing solely on Cain and Moira’s fractured relationship. Having fallen out over being intimate the previous evening, that was the crux of the action tonight.

Moira visited Chas and confided in her that she was worried about their sexual relationship being affected. She admitted she’d be lying if she said sex wasn’t important to her and to their marriage.

Meanwhile Liam went to see Cain and told him he was sure they could find a way through this. But Cain pointed out just how much sex Moira likes and how he was worried sick their marriage would be over when he couldn’t perform.

Liam tried to be encouraging, but Cain had made his mind up: he was not getting the surgery.

Cain changes his mind

Worried Liam couldn’t persuade him he was being stupid and then Cain threw him out. Liam reported Cain’s shock decision back to Moira and Chas. Chas insisted Moira was the only one who could talk him round.

So off Moira went, but it did not go well. She couldn’t give him the reassurance he needed despite her best efforts. He threw her affair with Nate back in her face saying when she wasn’t getting it at home she would look elsewhere. Ouch.

Cain headed out alone again and sat by Zak’s grave. Eric Pollard came across him and they talked. Eric shared his own fears about his health and his future given his Parkinson’s diagnosis.

It gave Cain food for thought. When Moira later came to talk to him again, they reconciled and Cain told her he was having the operation.

Emmerdale fans have had enough

Although it was welcome news to fans’ ears that Cain was going to fight his cancer rather than letting himself be destroyed by it, they have called upon the soap to leave it there.

The talk of Coira’s sex life in such detail was just too much. Although they felt the messaging was important, they say Emmerdale has achieved it now, so don’t need to bash viewers over the head with more of this talk or more of Cain’s sulky behaviour.

“Thank god we’ve established he’s having the operation. Can we now please stop talking about Coira’s sex life. You’ve got the message across about men, get yourselves checked,” begged one on social media.

Another agreed: “Cain’s sex life is putting me off my breakfast,” while someone else replied: “Exactly this!”

“Dear Emmerdale, I don’t care about Cain’s sex life. I’m actually ok with him having no sex life because he won’t be impregnating any underage girls. And Moira deserves better,” added a fourth.

But given he’s now having the surgery and it’s bound to have after-effects, we’re sure this isn’t the last time we’ll hear about Cain and Moira having sex. Sigh.
