The most compelling theory on how Ray and Celia storyline must end as he double crosses Marlon and Rhona

It's time the village fought back against Ray and Celia

Ray Walters and Celia Daniels are Emmerdale village’s worst nightmare and they seem to be going from strength to strength.

After threatening Rhona and Marlon to stay quiet last week and silencing Dylan in an umimaginably violent way, those in their control feel there is no way out.

Tonight (Wednesday December 10) Ray double-crossed Marlon and Rhona who thought they were free of him. So as their ordeal continues, just how will this end? There is one theory that almost everyone has that could really shake things up…

Emmerdale tonight – Ray took everything from Marlon and Rhona

Having decided to pay Ray off following their failed escape attempt, Marlon and Rhona scrambled about trying to get the £20,000 Ray was demanding.

Marlon sold his car and got £7000, he then got a bank loan for £10,000. But that still left them £3000 short and Ray had made it clear he wanted the full amount up front, payment plans were not an option.

Rhona promised to get it and rang round clients of the vet asking them to settle their bills. But no one would pay. And Rhona’s badgering of cash-strapped Moira only served to raise suspicion.

Somehow Rhona raised the funds and together they paid Ray off. But he told them plainly this is not the end of it, not by a long shot. He insisted this was not the debt paid and they still owned him.

As Marlon and Rhona crumbled she admitted another devastating fact: she had taken out a payday loan to get the rest of the money. They now have debts they are unable to pay off and still haven’t got rid of Ray.

“Celia and Ray have taken everything,” Rhona sobbed. “We’re ruined.”

Telling Cain everything, which Marlon had yesterday refused to do, seems like the only option now. But fans think they can go one better than just confiding in Cain. In fact, they are sure there’s only one way to end this storyline for good…

Tell every single person in Emmerdale village about Ray and Celia

Yep, that’s right tell every last one of them. As one person put it on social media: “What’s Celia gonna do? Kill all of them?”

“There are enough ruthless people who are prepared to go outside the law in the village that they could easily deal with Celia and Ray,” agreed someone else.

Even if Cain alone couldn’t deal with them, if Marlon told Cain, Cain could tell Moira, who could tell Ross. So that’s the Bartons covered.

Then Cain could tell Aaron and Robert – Robert the king of manipulative dealings in the past. Charity and Chas are a force to be reckoned with when they want to be, and Mandy and Paddy, though maybe slightly ineffectual, would fight to the death for Dylan and Bear. Let’s throw in Ryan too – he’s handy with a computer and could definitely do some sort of cyber revenge.

Kim and Joe too!

The news could also be passed on to Kim and Joe Tate – Kim owns the land Celia rents and has dealt with more intimidating people than Celia’s had hot dinners. Celia wouldn’t stand a chance.

Jai, although something of a donut these days, has a ruthless streak and would bring down anyone who hurt Laurel or the kids.

Also Caleb – another with a wealth of opportunity in his hands and wrong’uns on speed dial. He could certainly make Celia and Ray go away.

Heck, why not even get word out to returning psychos Kev Townsend, who would hurt anyone if he didn’t like them, and John Sugden – who lives to be the hero. Imagine the rush he’d get if he saved the whole village?

Let’s get this finished Murder on the Orient Express style – everyone banding together, no one full accountable, Celia and Ray gone. Job done.
