In Emmerdale last night (Tuesday, April 8), Charity and Jacob made a pact to rid themselves of Kammy. This came as his relationship with Sarah grew stronger than ever as she was released from the police station and he learned about her condition.

Elsewhere, a telling-off from Liam left John frustrated. And, unloading his frustrations later, he showed signs of what really going on beneath the cool and collected surface.

Meanwhile, Sam was eager to be rid of his new house guest, and Pollard worried about money.

Here’s everything that happened on Emmerdale last night.

Jacob and Charity teamed up against Kammy in Emmerdale last night

Charity was out to plead Sarah’s case, but Rodney was having none of it. Nicola leapt to her dad’s defense, leaving Charity under no illusion where she stood.

Having been unsuccessful in sweet-talking Rodney, a frustrated Charity ran into Kammy, and laid into him Sarah’s crime spree. Taking a softer approach, Kammy sidled up to Rodney and took the blame for what Sarah had done – saying she’d only stole the car to impress him.

Afterwards, he shared his version of events with Kammy and Cain. Hearing them stressing about how she didn’t have her medication, he demanded to know what’s wrong with Sarah – leading Cain to tell him about her condition.

Undeterred, he re-iterated that he wasn’t going anywhere, and would do anything he could to get her out of trouble. At the station, he was about to confess all when Sarah arrived, having been released by PC Swirling with a warning.

Back home, Sarah was horrified to learn that Kammy knew all about her condition. Telling him to leave, she unloaded on Charity and Cain, fearing that it’d change how Kammy saw her.

Following him outside, she explained the ins-and-outs of her condition. He took it in his stride, describing Jacob as ‘an idiot’ and reassuring her that doctors would probably find a cure before the inevitable. Their relationship stronger than ever, the pair then confessed that they’d fallen for each other.

Meanwhile, Nicola told Charity how her dad was over at the station retracting his statement. Charity was taken aback to learn that this was due to Kammy’s words and not hers.

Later, Sarah and Kammy bumped into Jacob in the street. Kammy chewed his rival out, leaving Jacob even more jealous and resentful than before.

In the pub, Jacob ranted about Kammy to Charity and Cain – inadvertently admitting that he’d been the one to call the police. Admitting that he’d done so to be rid of Kammy, Jacob earned Cain’s wrath. Charity, however, had a plan.

John showed his true colours

At home, Aaron and John were the picture of pre-marital bliss. Aaron was keen to start planning the wedding. However, John was tired and distracted. He’s not been sleeping well, and Aaron noted that he’s been mumbling apologies in his sleep. Guilty conscience, John?

John was typically shifty, and claimed that he’s been having nightmares since disposing of Anthony’s body. At work, he was dismissive of Kerry, who was feeling unwell after ‘one too many voddies.’ She was insistent that this was more than just a hangover, but John was determined to send her home under orders of a kip and a few litres of water.

Liam, however, had other ideas. Noting that Kerry’s a diabetic, he wasn’t best pleased to hear that John hadn’t bothered to check Kerry’s records or blood sugar level, and packed him off to mind reception as he took Kerry in for treatment.

Determining that Kerry was suffering from diabetic ketoacidosis, Liam took her for a trip to the hospital… but not before warning John that they were in for a ‘serious chat’ tomorrow.

Back home, John stewed over his telling off, and stormed out on a walk. Later that evening, ominous music played as John called Aaron to apologise from the scrap yard. Hanging up, he then unloaded his frustration on a car, smashing it to bits with a sledgehammer.

Sam wants rid of his house guest

Gabby had her feet firmly under the Dingles’ table. She explained to Sam exactly how to make a good cup of chamomile tea, while Thomas munched on a bowl of cereal from the comfort of Zak’s chair.

Noting the toys over the floor, Sam was clearly having second thoughts about his new house guest. Not least her comments about the smell of fry-ups – and Thomas flinging a dead cockatoo across the room.

At the pub, Gabby apologised for the damage done to Steve – before admitting the cockatoo had lost an eye too. She departed quickly as Kim arrived, leaving Sam desperate to move her back into Home Farm. Can he convince Kim and Gabby to make up?

Pollard’s suspicions grew in Emmerdale last night

Over at the shop, Pollard had money on the mind. Looking into the books himself, Pollard was quick to realise that the stock levels didn’t match the cash they’d taken.

Well, how could it? It’s all in Tracy’s pocket. While he didn’t suspect Tracy, he’s now keenly aware that something’s not right. Is he about to uncover Tracy’s secret?
