Emmerdale has sparked rumours of an affair between Sam Dingle and Kim Tate after the pair shared an intimate dance at Lydia’s birthday party.
With Lydia Dingle a no-show at her own party, her husband Sam was feeling a little down over the whole situation leading Kim to offer to share a dance with him.
Could something more happen between the pair?
Sam and Kim share a dance
During Thursday’s episode of Emmerdale, Kim hosted a birthday party for her friend Lydia at Home Farm.
While the episode mainly centred around Joe Tate’s whodunnit story, there were some side angles – one of which being Lydia absence at her own party.
It was stated earlier on that Lydia was running late, Sam Dingle then said she had a flat tyre. With him later he didn’t have a “Danny La Rue” where she’d got to.
As Joe’s antics came to light, the party came to a swift end. Sam admitted to Gabby, Vinny and Kim that he felt bad as he’d just wanted to give Lydia a nice night.
Kim told Sam that she’d spoken to Lydia on the phone. She said: “I told her how much you wanted to give her that dance. So she asked if I wouldn’t mind doing the honours.”
Kim then put a slowed down version of Walking On Sunshine on and the two shared an intimate dance.
Affair rumours for Sam and Kim in Emmerdale
An Emmerdale fan group recently noted that Kim and Sam seemed close, with some speculating that the two could end up being more than friends.
One viewer wrote: “How long until they sleep together then?” With a second adding that they had picked up on a “vibe” between the pair.
Another fan was not pleased with the idea, writing: “I will be so upset if he cheats on Lydia! No Sam just no.”
The latest scenes are set to add more fuel to the fire, with Sam turning to Kim in his wife’s absence.
Emmerdale usually airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV, with an early release at 7am on ITVX.
