Liam is the one responsible for Chas collapsing – but he has no idea, new Emmerdale fan theory predicts

In Emmerdale Who spiked Chas is the newest mystery and now a new fan theory suggests it may actually be Dr Liam – but he has no idea he is doing it.
Earlier this week, Chas collapsed while alone in the pub. But thanks to John’s great timing (coincidence?) he found her and got her to hospital. But the doctor revealed to Chas that it looked like she had taken too many pain meds – something which she is adamant she didn’t do.
Liam backed this up, explaining that he monitors her meds every day. Immediately they assumed Ella was responsible. She admitted to stealing Chas’ ring, but remained determined to prove that she wasn’t responsible for the spiking. And now a new theory suggests the person who spiked Chas may be closer to home than anyone realises.
Who spiked Chas in Emmerdale – was it Liam?
Liam made a huge point of saying he has been looking after Chas’ medication. And while it looked like that was mentioned to give him a reason to blame Ella. Some now think it was actually foreshadowing the truth.
Last month, Liam was involved in the limo ice crash that killed Leyla, Suzy and Amy. And at the time, there were a lot of fears for Liam’s life.
He hit his head very badly and was in a bad way in hospital. And one month later and he is back to work and seemingly fine. But is that the truth?
Taking to a reddit thread, one viewer proposed the idea that Liam may have an ongoing brain injury which meant he hasn’t been monitoring Chas’ meds properly – and may not remember.
They wrote: “I’m predicting a left-field outcome with the Chas spiking. After a long drawn-out faff it will be revealed that Liam has been overmedicating Chas somehow. And he won’t remember doing it. He will now have memory issues caused by a brain injury from him bashing his head in the crash.”
While it does seem like a far-fetched theory, nothing is impossible in Soap Land. We all remember when Chas was sleep-walking and blaming Emma Barton!
Or was John responsible?
However, other Reddit users on the thread remain adamant that it’s ‘Serial Killer’ John Sugden behind Chas’ spiking. All so that he can play the hero.
One wrote: “I still think it’s John. He has been controlling towards Aaron and others. He wants to be seen as ‘the good guy’. John knows the importance of Chas to Aaron and how he values her support and advice.”
Another agreed: “It’s obviously John. He clearly has a dark back story that has yet to be explored. Chas doesn’t like him and he is out to get her. Or to play the hero.”
Whether it really is Liam accidentally spiking Chas (We hope not!), two things are for certain; the fans don’t believe it was Ella and they still don’t trust John.
