The news will come as a shock to fans who were hoping for a comeback to tie up some loose ends of her storyline. But Georgia, who welcomed her first baby in June 2025, is said to be enjoying motherhood and doesn’t want to commit to the soap full-time. Fans had been expecting her to go, with many commenting on the big baby bump and Emmerdale’s efforts – or lack of – to hide it. Steph had been through a lot during her short time in the village, not least discovering her grandad Anthony was actually her biological father after he raped her mother Ruby. Steph was in an on/off relationship with Ross Barton. She was disappointed when Ross failed to tell her about his fling with Manpreet. Unable to get over the betrayal, Steph announced that she’d booked a yoga retreat in Rome and was then going travelling for a bit. Ruby and Caleb were shocked to learn she’d be heading off that very night. However, they were supportive of Steph’s decision, believing it would aid her recovery. Ross made a last ditch attempt to stop Steph going, but she jumped in the taxi and headed off anyway. It was hoped she’d return to reconcile with Ross and get past the trauma of what happened with Anthony. But it seems that is not to be the case. She reportedly "understood" the soap's decision. A source told The Sun: "Olivia is adored by everyone at Emmerdale so the decision to axe her has not gone down well at all. "She's a popular member of the cast and if they can get rid of Olivia then the feeling is virtually no-one is safe. "Olivia understood their decision and is preparing to film her exit in the coming months." The exact date of her departure is unknown, but is likely to be around the summer time. No details of her end storyline have been given either. Fury over departure of women The news has caused anger among many viewers of the soap. She becomes the 10th female to leave Emmerdale since the start of 2025. Only four men have gone. In last year's lake limo crash three women died. Amy, Suzy and Leyla were killed, but all the men survived, which caused uproar at the time. And now yet another woman has been axed, it's not made fans happy. "Surprise, Surprise Emmerdale getting rid of yet another female character in Dawn who is pretty dull I admit, but there are a few male characters who should be in front of her. The likes of Billy, Jai, Arthur, Marlon, Eric, Noah and Rodney," shared one on social media.
