But they were wrong. Oh so wrong. After trying everything they could to get rid of Ray and save April from his clutches, the family decided to pay him off. But his next move sends them reeling – and leaves them with nothing. *WARNING: Emmerdale spoilers for Wednesday December 10 follow. Marlon and Rhona feel they don’t have any other options than to pay Ray (Credit: ITV) Marlon and Rhona agreed to pay Ray in Emmerdale After trying to escape and failing, Marlon and Rhona toyed with the idea of telling Cain everything and letting him deal with Ray and Celia. But Marlon was worried about what Cain would do and instead tried to get his cousin to help sell his car to raise funds. Cain was suspicious and interrupted Ray threatening Marlon. Marlon lied it was to do with a car crash and although Cain didn’t seem to believe him, he was forced to accept it. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers The opportunity for help Cain-style wasted, Marlon and Rhona decided they had to raise the money to pay Ray off. Ray demanded £20,000 to leave the family alone. Marlon promised he would get the money whatever it took. But just how will he find that sort of cash? Marlon is stunned by Ray (Credit: ITV) Ray plays dirty In tonight’s episode, Rhona and Marlon are scrambling round trying to get the money. Marlon manages to raise some selling his car and he secures a bank loan for some more. But it still leaves them £3000 short. Rhona promises to sort it and tries to call in some unpaid bills from the vets. But no one will pay up that quickly – and her desperation for cash sees Moira grow suspicious. At the last minute, Rhona and Marlon do secure the full amount, but Rhona is sheepish about where exactly she got the remaining £3k. And it turns out that’s because it may have huge consequences for them. The couple hand the cash over to Ray hoping it is all over. But Ray’s next move leaves them completely blindsided. They are totally stunned and now have very, very few options. We won’t spoil what Ray does for those wanting to watch it later, but Rhona and Marlon are on the verge of losing everything.
