Today in Coronation Street (Thursday, April 23), one villain lost their life as Betsy made a gruesome discovery on the cobbles as part of the flashforward murder.

Carla and Lisa both heard a scream on the evening of their wedding, but had no idea that it belonged to a traumatised Betsy.

The couple’s marriage wasn’t the only thing that caught our attention during in the episode… The soap also dropped some more ‘clues’ as to who the murder victim could be.

Newlyweds heard a scream in Coronation Street

Carla Connor was all set for a day of doing absolutely nothing, still reeling from the disappointment of her cancelled wedding after the hotel flood. Curling up at home felt like the only option. Until, Lisa Swain stepped in with a secret plan that would turn everything around.

Telling Carla that Debbie had offered them a free day at the hotel as an apology, Lisa managed to get her suited and booted. But when Carla arrived, she was met with the ultimate surprise. The wedding was back on. The venue was beautifully prepared. Before she knew it, Carla was exchanging vows with Lisa as they were declared wife and wife.

The surprises didn’t stop there. A quick trip back to the factory, supposedly to fix the Underworld alarm, turned into a full-blown reception with friends and family jumping out to celebrate. With Roy’s touching speech, some lively dancing, and even fireworks courtesy of David, the day ended on a perfect high with a meal at Roy’s.

But the mood shifted dramatically in classic Coronation Street style. Just as the newlyweds sat down to eat, a piercing scream rang out across the Street. Betsy Swain had found a dead body. While Carla dismissed it as foxes, viewers know something far more sinister has happened.

With suspects including Carl, Maggie, Theo, Megan, and Jodie, and tensions running high between several of them, the mystery is only just beginning.

Fresh flashforward murder ‘clues’

Throughout the episode, certain ‘murder week clues’ were dropped. This could place certain villains and their possible killers at the top of the list when it comes to being at the scene.

The first one belonged to Jodie Ramsey. She was seen worrying that Olivia’s dad and his mates were going to hurt her. She then told Shona that Olivia’s dad was her abusive ex who had bundled her into the van. With Olivia and her family now knowing where Jodie is staying, could this be a huge clue that Jodie’s the one to be killed as her past catches up with her?

Elsewhere on the cobbles, Carl Webster was seen being paid off by Debbie to leave his life. Debbie even handed him a necklace and told him to ‘go well’ on his way. But, will Debbie regret this decision if anything happens to him?

With Carl also making a reference to Abi Webster’s late son Seb, could karma come back to bite him? Has he riled up his family enough for one of them to want to finish him off?

The episode also saw Todd Grimshaw with his suitcase as he prepared for his trip to Thailand. However, Theo could be seen standing at the top of the scaffolding near the flat bedroom window. Always watching. Considering that Betsy finds a dead body by the scaffolding, is this a clue that Theo could be the one to die?

The Megan and Maggie storyline is also brewing away in the background. Although, we didn’t get much of an update as to where they were tonight. Could this be because one of them was finishing the other off?
