Speaking to the Mirror, Shona Platt star Julia Goulding shared: “I would love to explore some of their past more. We’ve got a dad.” Olivia then contributed: “It would be great to explore that some more. I think the history with Jodie’s dad is a big part of why she is the way she is, and nobody really understands that fully yet.” Noting that her past with her dad is the ‘reason’ for the way Jodie is today, Olivia added: “She is messed up for a reason. She’s not just another villain, she’s more complex than that. She’s quite layered.” Viewers have already met Jodie and Shona’s dad and know that Jodie didn’t have the best relationship with him. However, he only appeared in a couple of episodes. This means that there’s lots of scope for more of his relationship with Jodie to be uncovered in future scenes.
