A menacing Joe Tate threatened Clemmie in Emmerdale on Tuesday, May 6, telling her that she’d be sent into care if she said anything about his kiss with Dawn. However, terrified Clemmie couldn’t stay quiet for long, and soon opened up to her dad.

But what will Billy do now that he knows about Joe and Dawn?

Elsewhere, Gail began to have serious concerns about her relationship with Ryan, and a newly single Ross hit it off with Manpreet. Meanwhile, John clashed with Mack again as they made plans for a stag do.

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale on Tuesday.

Clemmie acted up in Emmerdale

Pouting around the house, Clemmie informed her mum that she was feeling ill and wouldn’t be going to school. Dawn assumed it was down to confusion over Billy staying over the night… unaware that Clemmie had spotted her kissing Joe yesterday.

Catching Clemmie alone, Joe promised not to tell Dawn about the bite if she didn’t. He’d bought her a gift as a peace offering, and handed over a brand new karaoke set.

He promised to forgive and forget about the bite, so long as she kept quiet about the kiss. Deal apparently struck, Joe congratulated himself on averting another disaster.

At the cafe, a glum Billy shared his unhappiness with Mack. Just then, Dawn entered, and informed him of Clemmie’s case of school-itis. Convinced it was due to her confusion around their split, she told Billy that he probably shouldn’t stay the night at Home Farm again.

Later, as she collected a pizza from The Hide, Dawn bumped into Manpreet – sharing news of her split from Billy. Manpreet mentioned that Clemmie’s anxiety over the break-up may have resulted in a very real stomach ache – leaving Dawn guilt-ridden and worried that she was making her daughter, quite literally, worried sick.

Meanwhile, Joe returned home to find Clemmie disassembling her brand new karaoke machine. Infuriated, he tried a different tack – describing her as a ‘savage’ and reminding her that she wasn’t Dawn’s child.

Getting truly nasty, he told her that if she didn’t shape up, he’d tell Dawn about the bite… and have her sent into care.

Clemmie told Billy the truth about Joe

Billy arrived to find Clemmie in tears. Encouraging her to open up, he learned the truth – she admitted that she’d bitten Joe because of the kiss, and that he’d threatened to have her put into care.

Billy reassured Clemmie that she’d always be their daughter, and that they’d never send her away. He promised not to hurt Joe – no matter how badly he might want to.

“Joe’s my problem now,” he told her, drawing Clemmie in for a hug. But what will wrathful Billy do to the man who destroyed his marriage and threatened his daughter?

Gail worried about her relationship

At the salon, Gail enlisted the help of Paddy, Mandy (Pandy), Ryan and Kerry as she trialled a game of Mr. and Mrs. With Kerry in quizmaster mode, Gail was feeling competitive as Pandy aced their first round.

But, as she and Ryan settled down for their turn, it soon became clear how mismatched they are – and were unable to answer a single question about each other.

And, as they swapped their shared couple dream (Vegas for Pandy, owning The Woolpack for Gail, a trip to Japan for Ryan), she exploded in a sulk.

Afterwards, she and Ryan continued to prove that they were on entirely different pages (of separate books!) as he seemed clueless as to how badly the game had gone.

Concluding that they were no longer in love, she stormed off. Is their relationship over?

Manpreet and Ross flirted

Cain pressed Ross over details of his split with Steph, but he wasn’t exactly forthcoming. Cain told him he needed to get himself back out there and stop brooding over Steph.

In The Hide, Ross was playing pool when Dawn entered. While she was too distracted to take him up on an offer of a game, flirty Manpreet was more than happy to oblige.

Sparks flew as the pair played, and it soon became clear that Joe had a steamy night ahead of him with the village GP.

Mack sniped at John in Emmerdale

John came home to find the wedding committee in full flow, with Aaron, Victoria and Mack waiting on the sofa.

As they brainstormed ideas for the stag do, the group settled on a spot of paintballing… and Mack continued sniping. Careful Mack.
