A shocked Victoria Sugden finally learned the truth about Aidan Moore in Emmerdale on Tuesday, April 22 – learning about his true relationship to John. And, visiting Aidan in hospital, she confronted John afterwards, where she demanded he come clean to Aaron.

Elsewhere, Billy grew convinced that Dawn has been having an affair with Ross, and humiliated himself in a violent confrontation. This came as Joe and Kim were united, coming to an agreement with Caleb and Ruby.

Meanwhile, Vinny began to move on from Liv, and Kammy and Jacob butted heads… again.

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale.

Victoria learned about John’s lies in Emmerdale

A sneaky Victoria informed Mack that she’d tracked down a member of John’s old platoon. She was planning on meeting up with him to find more out about her enigmatic brother, ahead of the wedding.

Meanwhile, in the Woolpack, John shared a pint with Liam. The doctor pressed him on the wedding plans, expressing his disappointment at his own engagement to Chas being put off.

Talk then turned to work at the surgery, as Liam explained how they couldn’t afford a new receptionist after Ella – telling John that he’d have to fill in during the interim.

Yorkshire Hero 2025 nominee John was outraged at the thought of being forced to man a reception desk. He accused Liam of still holding a grudge over Kerry, which he denied. Sulky John reluctantly agreed (if agreed is what you can call it), giving his boss the cold shoulder as he stewed over the indignity.

Meanwhile, at The Hide, Victoria met with Connor, John’s old army buddy. As she filled him in on what John’s been up to, she asked him about Aidan Moore – and was taken aback to learn that they’d been lovers rather than friends. So much so, in fact, that they’d gotten engaged ‘before it all kicked off.’

And it was then that she learned another bombshell – Aiden’s alive. Explaining what had happened, Connor revealed how John had been on hand to save Aidan’s life, but he’d been in a coma in hospital ever since.

Victoria confronted John over his Aidan Moore lies

John continued to stew over the receptionist’s job. Aaron tried to lighten the mood, but John was having none of it, and was convinced that Liam still has it in for him.

Later, Victoria caught up with John. Still sulking and drinking in equal measure, he continued to rant about his new job. Knowing what she did, Victoria subtly pressed him about his old army pals and his ‘friendship’ with Aidan Moore, but was only left more suspicious of his excuses and lies.

The next day, John told Aaron that he was considering applying for a paramedic job at Hotten General. That’ll show Liam. Talking of hospitals -Victoria had tracked down Aidan. Passing herself off as a cousin, she snuck into the room where he (and not Mack!) lay comatose.

Beating a hasty exit as a member of staff arrived, Victoria returned home where she told John that she’d met with Connor. Sharing how she knew all about Aidan, she began to demand answers.

As John shared his side of the story, he attempted to win Victoria over with admissions of regret and trauma. She remained suspicious, but was there to listen, encouraging him to talk to Aaron.

Fearing that he’d lose Aaron if he learned the truth, John begged Victoria to stay quiet. However, she refused – and demanded he tell Aaron the truth.

Will John come clean?

The Tates and the Miligans called a truce in Emmerdale

The Miligans were left rattled by a visit from the police, bright and early – someone had reported a break-in at the depot. The officers seemed satisfied as Caleb sent them packing with excuses… but not before pulling a Columbo-esque ‘one more thing.’

Asked whether they’d heard anything from Anthony recently, Caleb replied that they hadn’t, but would keep them informed. Suspecting that this was another of Joe’s games, Caleb shared his suspicions with the prime suspect, who was typically smug about it.

Not satisfied with his beating last week, Joe prodded his uncle into another scuffle, before Cain arrived to break it up. Worried, Cain visited Kim at Home Farm afterwards, looking to end the feud.

Summoning Ruby and Joe to Home Farm, he and Kim mediated as the families sat down to hash out their differences. Joe didn’t make it easy for himself, sniping about Anthony – but Kim and Cain were determined to keep the peace.

Recognising Caleb as Frank’s son, Kim proposed a solution – a truce, in exchange for compensation from Home Farm. Rejecting Kim’s offer of heaps of cash, Caleb shared what he really wanted – a quarter of Home Farm.

Again, she refused. However, she was willing to part with a chunk of her land, which she handed it over with the warning that, if he didn’t drop things, he’d have made an enemy of Kim Tate too.

Deal struck, Joe thanked Kim for her help. He promised to leave Caleb alone in future, and again professed his love for Dawn. United for once, Kim told Joe that he needed to work with her for their legacy’s sake – making the Tate name ‘unstoppable’ once more.

Billy grew suspicious

At the cafe, Billy filled Mack in on the end of his marriage. Spotting Ross, Billy quizzed him over whether Dawn had mentioned anything about recent events.

Ross replied in the negative before heading on his way – and Mack took the opportunity to stick his oar in, suggesting maybe he’d had something to do with Dawn’s sudden change of heart.

Later, Ross found Dawn in The Hide, and shared his sympathies. As he spotted Ross and Dawn talking in The Hide, Mack’s words rang again in his head, and he began to wonder whether there might be some truth there.

The next day, as he pondered his suspicions, Billy was forced to answer to Clemmie, who questioned why her parents were sleeping in different rooms.

Dawn was adamant that they should break the news of their separation to the kids, but he refused. He demanded to know whether there was someone else, and her hurried exit didn’t do much to dissuade him of his fears.

Billy confronted Ross in Emmerdale

With Ross and Dawn all smiles, Billy was convinced she’d been having an affair. He confided in Joe, who didn’t exactly dissuade him otherwise. He confronted Ross, and the pair began manhandling each other all over the kitchen… just as Dawn and Clemmie arrived.

Clemmie was distraught to overhear Billy’s accusation. Dawn denied it all (“ugh, as if!”) as Billy tried to make it up to his shell-shocked daughter. As Kim shepherded Clemmie off, Ross reassured him that the only woman in his life is Steph. And it seemed to have sunk in.

Afterwards, Billy confided in Joe and Kim, crumbling under the weight of his pain. Feeling guilty, Joe paid Ross a visit at The Hide – where he was waiting for Steph with a pizza and a bottle of wine – where he quizzed her over Dawn’s motives.

Back at Home Farm, Kim and Joe swapped notes over Billy, while he packed his bags upstairs. Thanking Joe for his support, Billy bade his (now ex) wife goodbye, and headed off into the night.

So much for making their relationship official – seeing how Billy had reacted to Ross, she was now determined to keep their affair a secret. But for how long can they hide it from Billy?

Vinny lied to Gabby in Emmerdale

As Vinny fetched coffee for himself and Gabby, she noticed that he’d taken his wedding ring off. Explaining how it felt right now they’d moved in together, Vinny was ready to move on from his dead wife, Liv.

She responded by telling him to take the day off work so he could watch little Thomas while she dealt with the decorating. As she left, Vinny called his mum, palming Thomas off on her while he went to work as originally intended.

Afterwards, Gabby was full of praise for Vinny for looking after her son for the day, unaware of where he’d really been. But how would she react if she knew he’d spent the day scoffing sweets with Mandy? And why doesn’t Vinny want to look after Thomas anyway?

Kammy and Jacob bickered over Sarah in Emmerdale

As they prepared for their big race, love rivals Kammy and Jacob continued to throw their weight around. Spotting their exchange, Charity was on hand with a few words of encouragement… although he didn’t seem so sure after she informed him the race course would take in Devil’s Leap, where a man once lost his leg.

Meanwhile, Kammy was beginning to wonder whether Jacob and Sarah were as over as she claimed. He told her that he wanted to take their relationship to the next level, making it official. She reassured him, but told him that his bickering with Jacob needed to stop.

Afterwards, Kammy tried to talk Jacob out of the race, only to find himself butting heads with Doctor Hair all over again. Will someone lose a leg in their vicious rivalry?
