This article will contain spoilers for the Monday February 16 episode of Emmerdale. While it has not aired on TV yet, the episode is already available to watch on ITVX and YouTube. Arthur found his secrets and lies unravelling, as Laurel discovered the truth about his sudden increase in money. But now, it looks like Arthur could say goodbye to village life. Arthur wants to leave the village (Credit: ITV) Arthur and Laurel argued In tonight’s episode of Emmerdale, Arthur came to blows with Gabby, when she suggested he isn’t working hard enough. And when she noticed his new phone, he stormed out, quitting his job. But Laurel, worried about her son, headed home to check on him. However, when she arrived to find him looking for his passport, she was stunned. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers He explained to her that he doesn’t have anything in Emmerdale anymore, and wants a fresh start in Australia since he didn’t go to university. But Laurel just wanted to know where he was going to get the money from. And that’s when the truth unravelled. After trying to lie his way out of it, Arthur finally confessed that it belonged to Ray, and he kept it because it was “free money”, leaving Laurel horrified. She made it clear to him that it wasn’t acceptable, but Arthur reinforced that he wanted to leave this life behind. And even threatened to tell people that she hit him. Can Laurel ever get through to her son? Or is Arthur on his way out? Arthur and Laurel have a strained relationship at the minute (Credit: ITV) Is Arthur leaving Emmerdale? Fans have grown concerned that Arthur could be leaving the village following his recent behaviour. One fan penned on a Reddit thread discussing the episode: “I don’t believe Arthur will actually go to Australia, but he could leave for a while?” However, fans shouldn’t fear too much, as at this current moment, there are no reports that Arthur actor Alfie Clarke is stepping down from his role. Although, in true soap fashion, sometimes exits are not announced ahead of time. But keeping Arthur in the village allows the storyline and dynamics between him and Laurel to progress, something which could get quite interesting after the last few months. While he could be saying goodbye to the village, keeping him around has more use. And let’s face it, he hasn’t been used enough over the years. So, giving Arthur a good storyline is something we should all love to see. Can Laurel and Arthur ever repair their relationship?
