It’s spring in Emmerdale and that means a whole load of exciting new storylines. As if we’ve not had enough drama recently there’s lots more to come in the Dales.
So we thought we’d round up everything we’re looking forward to in our spring preview.
It seems there are some bad times ahead for Caleb (Credit: ITV)
Is Caleb going to be Joe’s next target?
Joe’s still ill and getting worse. While we don’t know what’s exactly wrong with him, his plan for Noah fell apart and he’s now getting pretty desperate.
One thing’s for sure, Joe needs some sort of help and fast. Emmerdale fans are always quick to put two and two together and they reckon this is only going one way.
Remember the new year flashforward when we saw with Caleb flatlining on the operating table? Well, the fans think this could be Joe putting the next part of his plan into action.

Steph’s got a plan!
Steph knows everything now and not surprisingly she’s not taking it very well. But after Steph does a bit of a vanishing act, Ruby manages to track her down at Anthony’s grave.
And it turns out Steph’s been doing some thinking. She’s got a plan! She gathers everyone together but what is she plotting? Is she going to reveal all about her grandad’s death? Is she going to frame someone? Or is her plan even more twisted?

But could Jai ruin everything?
In the meantime, an unlikely detective is on the case of Anthony’s disappearance – Jai Sharma! He’s sniffing round the depot and he’s determined to get to the bottom of everything that’s puzzling him. What will he uncover? And what will the band of killers do if Jai accidentally finds out the truth?
Could Jai become a victim? A hero? Or will he end up taking the blame for Anthony’s death?

Emmerdale spring preview: Manpreet’s in trouble!
Manpreet’s in trouble thanks to the saucy pics she’s been posting. But who is her blackmailer and what exactly do they want? Could Charles be the one tormenting his ex? We admit that seems unlikely. In fact, there’s only one person we’re suspicious about and that’s Ella.
She may be acting like she’s Manpreet’s bestie at the moment, but we all know that Ella can’t be trusted. She’s sneaky and manipulative and she’s very volatile. Could she be the one sending Manpreet the creepy messages?
Mind you, Ella’s not the only one who’s waving goodbye to Emmerdale soon, our spring preview reveals. Gail’s also leaving.
Perhaps she is Manpreet’s blackmailer? (No perhaps not!) Or perhaps she’ll get caught in the crossfire between Ella and Manpreet? Could Ella even kill again before she goes? Be careful, Gail!

Emmerdale spring preview: Nate discovered!
Of course the biggest storyline lurking in the background this spring is the knowledge that Nate Robinson’s corpse is in the lake.
Amy saw him when she fell beneath the ice after the limo crash, but though she managed to say his name to husband Matty, he’s not put two and two together. After all, he’s been too busy processing Amy’s tragic death and organising her funeral.
But this is soap and nothing stays buried for long – not even bodies.
We’re waiting to find out who killed Nate and why. Who was the hooded figure watching the search and rescue team pulling the limo out of the lake? And who sent the birthday present to little Frankie? We were convinced the killer was John Sugden, who was – after all – the last person to see Nate before he ‘left’.
But the birthday present threw us a little bit – would John know when Frankie’s birthday was? We’re not convinced. In which case, could the killer be someone else? Ella?! Caleb? Jai??? We’re desperate to find out more.
Spring preview: Nate’s body discovered!
Since Nate slunk off to Shetland without a proper goodbye we’ve been convinced there was more to his exit than we were being told. At first we were sure he’d show up burned and battered having been an unexpected victim of the barn fire.
But no, it seemed he really had gone up to Shetland after all. Especially when his ex-wife Tracy said she’d had a message from him telling her not to contact her.
We had to admit, we were disappointed. It seemed like such a damp squib of an ending for Nate, who – let’s face it – arrived with a real BOOM when he seduced Moira and then announced he was Cain’s secret son.
Nate’s body discovered!
Of course, it was Amy who spotted Nate’s body in the icy lake. But though she managed to tell Matty she’d seen Nate, she then went and died, and now Matty’s not really in the best place to think about what his wife meant when she croaked out Nate’s name.
And that means we’re waiting impatiently for something else to happen!
The mystery revealed?
So though it’s really sad that he’s ended up in a watery grave, we’re delighted that his woeful ending was’t really the boring departure we thought it was.
We know Tracy will be devastated. And little Frankie doesn’t deserve to grow up without a dad. But we are HERE for the drama!
And now we’re counting the days until the mystery is revealed!

More puzzles!
Plus there are some added puzzles too. There was the strange hooded figure who watched the search and rescue team drag the limo out of the lake. Was that the killer, looking on to make sure his secret wasn’t discovered? It definitely looked that way. But who was it? We’re already suspicious about John Sugden so at first we thought it could be him, but now we’re not so sure. Could it be Caleb? Or Aaron (yes we’re just saying that because he wears his hood up a lot, but you never know!).
Whoever the killer is, we assume they’re the one who sent Frankie a birthday present to make it look like Nate is still alive and well and living it up hundreds of miles north. Intriguing!
Plus there’s the added clue of the flashforward we saw at new year, when a body wrapped in tarpaulin was dropped from a bridge. Was that Nate? Was the flashforward actually a flashback?! Or is there another corpse floating around just waiting to be discovered?
This is going to be huge when the body is finally discovered and we can’t wait for the drama!
