Ella attacks Liam

Liam Cavanagah (played by actor Jonny McPherson) is in danger this week as his ex-girlfriend Ella takes desperate action in her attempts to prove she’s innocent of poisoning love rival Chas!

But Ella’s determination to show she’s didn’t harm Chas, could end up with her killing her former fella, Dr Liam!

“Dire consequences” says Jonny McPherson

Actor Jonny McPherson, who plays caring Liam, left us worried that this could be the end for his alter ego.  “There are some dire consequences,” he told us when we caught up with him for a chat.

But surely Liam won’t die? Will he?!

Is Liam going to die?

Jonny McPherson made us even more concerned by admitting that while he was relieved his character made it out of the limo crash without too many injuries, he’s always wary that Dr Liam could be killed off at any time.

“Acting’s a precarious game,” he teased. “Nobody’s got any guarantees of longevity on a soap. If  and when the time comes you’ve got to do the best you can with it.”

Ella’s off the deep end

Sadly we couldn’t get him to let any more slip about whether Ella could be the one to finally finish off serial monogamist Liam! But here’s what we do know.

With the campaign against Liam and Chas seemingly intensifying, the newly engaged couple are worried. First Belle receives an email telling her the Cavanagh/Dingle wedding is cancelled. Then the windows at the pub are smashed. Convinced Ella’s behind the torment, Chas and Liam discuss how to handle it – unaware that Ella’s watching them!

Creepy!

Hostage situation!

But then things take a turn for the worse. Liam gets a message from Mandy asking him to come home – but when he arrives, there’s a shock in store.

“Ella is at Liam’s kitchen table, sitting next to Mandy, and she has a knife,” explains Jonny.

“The atmosphere is tense. Liam thinks Ella’s gone off the deep end and all he can think to do is get rid of Mandy so she can call the police and then somehow talk Ella off the ledge.”

What happens next?

With Mandy gone, Liam tries to trick Ella into confessing she’s responsible for the strange things that have been happening, but she twigs that he’s not being genuine when he says he wants to get back together.

“He’s not frightened for his life,” says Jonny. “He knows if it came to it, he could overpower Ella. He still wants to help her. He wants to give her a cuddle and tell her everything’s going to be all right. But that has pretty dire consequences!”

When Chas and Mandy arrive, Ella flees into the woods with Liam in pursuit. But when there’s a confrontation she pushes the doctor – who’s already suffering with a recent head injury from the limo crash. He falls and hits his head, and lies motionless. Horrified, Ella sobs over her ex-boyfriend’s body.
