After learning a huge secret, Dr Todd made it very clear she was aware of the truth. How this will affect Jacob remains to be seen – but it could see him lose everything. Dr Todd was listening in to Chas and Ross (Credit: ITV) Dr Todd finds out a secret in Emmerdale tonight In the Emmerdale episode aired on Wednesday April 22 everyone was waiting for Charity to wake up after her surgery. Fortunately she was alive and well, if a little dazed and confused. Meanwhile, Sarah and Jacob were bonding with their baby daughter. They announced later that they have named her Leyla Charity Sugden. Aw! However, Charity had other things on her mind when she heard that Ross had been hanging about the hospital. She knew delivering their daughter and then having to pretend he had no connection to her will have been hard. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Charity charged Chas with taking Ross to task about keeping his mouth zipped. Chas confronted him outside the hospital and told him he had better not be getting attached to the baby. Ross insisted he was just there as he was concerned about Charity’s wellbeing because she is Moses’ mother. But Chas continued to warn him off and he told her: “That baby belongs to Sarah and Jacob and is nothing, nothing to do with me. This little secret works for all of us. She then went to ‘check on’ Charity. But really she wanted to make it clear she knew the truth. She played innocent, dropping into conversation Jacob wasn’t the biological father. Her comment left Charity scrambling as she insisted Todd had got it wrong. But Todd revealed Jacob and the baby don’t have the same blood type. Charity was completely stumped as the devious doc said she could trust her and the secret wouldn’t leave the room. But before Charity could talk any further, Mack returned and they had to shut up fast. With Jacob having made a formal complaint against Todd, he refused to back down tonight. She confronted him and told him he’d be depriving the hospital of her life-saving skills if he went ahead. But Jacob insisted she was a bully and she needed to be dealt with. Todd wasn’t at all happy. But then she discovered this secret and it’s clear it’s information she could use to her advantage. Fans are already certain that’s what’s coming, with one saying on social media: “What’s Todd planning?” “Chas blabbing about the baby loudly so Todd hears. She’s going to make Charity make Jacob drop his complaint,” another suggested. A third (fed-up) fan wrote: “They called it a ‘twist’ Predictable nonsense imo. Big mouth Chas is overheard by Dr Todd. What’s the betting she uses that to coerce Charity to get Jacob to drop his case Meanwhile the storyline drags on and on and on and on.” Dr Todd is in possession of information that could see Jacob lose everything.
