‘Who killed Joe Tate?’ story being lined-up, fans convinced – all the possible suspects
Are Joe’s days numbered?
Emmerdale fans are convinced that Joe Tate is leaving the show in a very dramatic way – a murder mystery.
Ever since he returned Joe has been causing quite a lot of trouble. And over the last four months he has gathered a significant amount of enemies. While Kim may have shown her allegiance to him, many fans can’t help but wonder if we’re about to say goodbye to the Tate bad boy. And if so, who is going to be the one to get rid of him?
If a Who Killed Joe Tate storylines is happening, let’s have a look at the possible suspects that could deal the final blow.
Speaking on a Reddit thread fans were heavily speculating that we’re about to get another mystery. But with the amount of enemies that Joe has, it will actually be hard to tell who wants him dead the most.

Caleb
Starting off with the most obvious one. Caleb has every right to want revenge on Joe for literally stealing his kidney.
Joe was the reason he got stabbed. And when Caleb confronted him about it, he didn’t actually seem that apologetic. While Caleb may be acting like he will move on, somehow we doubt he will let it go that easily.
And if Joe is leaving Emmerdale, Caleb may want to be the one to take him out…

Is Joe leaving Emmerdale? Ruby and Steph to take him down?
Joe also threatened to use Anthony’s disappearance against the Miligan’s if they went to the police. Yes, he may believe Caleb was the one who killed Anthony, but he still knows more than any of them want.
So, if it seems that he could use it against them again, could Ruby take action to protect her family? Or with Steph still struggling to cope, could she take Joe down?
Anyone who knows about Anthony’s murder
Following on from that, there are quite a lot of villagers involved in Anthony’s death. And we all know how much John likes to be in control of the situations.
If Joe threatens to expose any of them, then it could be dangerous times for him. And if John has to get involved, then Joe could find himself sinking in the lake beside Nate…

Is Joe leaving Emmerdale? Charity could kill him
When Noah was drugged, Charity immediately knew that Joe was behind it, she just didn’t have any proof. But now others are aware.
So, if she was to find out for definite that Joe was responsible, then she would most likely want revenge on him. And perhaps Noah and Mack could even lend a helping hand.
Kerry or Matty
Three women’s lives were lost in the limo crash that Joe inadvertently caused when he spiked Noah. So it wouldn’t be too surprising if those who were left behind wanted to take revenge for their loved ones.
After the crash, we haven’t seen too much of their individual mourning periods, but Kerry and Matty are sure to want justice for Amy. And if doing so means taking Joe down, then they may do just that.

Billy
While Billy may have just accused Ross of being the one to have an affair with Dawn, if he finds out if was Joe, he may see red.
Joe was the one giving him advice, and living under the same roof as him. So, discovering that an affair was happening right where he lived could send him over the edge. And if he becomes desperate to prove to Dawn that she can’t trust him, he may just end up taking Joe out once and for all.
Is Joe leaving Emmerdale? Manpreet could get revenge
Let’s not forget that for a while Manpreet was being blackmailed for her online profile.. by Joe.
Yes, it was cleared up to us at the time purely as a way for him to get information on Caleb. But she doesn’t know that. And if she found out that she played a part in Joe stealing a kidney and that he was the one to cause her the stress, she could lash out.
Her sister was one of Emmerdale’s most iconic villains, so she could have the same side to her…

Clemmie
One possibility that could shock everyone would be if little Clemmie killed Joe herself. She has been the kid thrown into the mix the most, with her overhearing Billy’s accusations of an affair.
And soaps love to pull a child killer plot as a shock moment – let’s remember Kyle killed Al not too long ago.
If Clemmie were to get rid of Joe, it could bring quite a lot of storylines…
While there is no official confirmation that Ned Porteous is leaving his role as Joe, things definitely don’t look good for him.
