for the drop
When I see the three of them, at the end of the show, saying their synchronised goodbyes, there is part of my brain pulling on an invisible trapdoor lever which will consign them forever to oblivion.

Your comment is spot on! Now they have more and more they go back to that are unfinished...boring waste of timel Then most of them hadn't seen the property before they bought.....as if!

red squirrel syndrome
Don't know how to phrase this without it seeming racist, but here goes. The premise of the show when it first began was to feature delapidated properties bring brought back into habitable condition to be lived in mainly by younger people as their first home. The two presenters were there to follow their progress from auction to completion , advising them, cautioning them or encouraging them with their long experiences in renovation. This made for good viewing and engrossing sympathetic interest in the success or failure of the projects. The first timers are very rare now, the buyers now are older and less idealistic, every other one being Asian. east european or immigrant, with access to inexhaustible finance, many with 100 or more properties in their portfolios and a network of backup labour. Their projects now seem to be different, to increase the number of rooms and occupancy in a property, with inevitable rabbit warren HMO's being the preferred solution. The presenters now seem to be more visual, jokey with a mission to entertain us, maybe to distract us from what is evolving in the property market. I'm all for a bit of enterprise and drive ,but could this sometimes be shown by the homegrown renovators?

The landlord did little for the HMO update and wants £100 PW for the small (box rooms when the experts gave £70 - £75 . Greedy Ali

the horror, the horror
Must admit I had to flee the scene for today's episode, Dion had 2-slots on the show with the 3rd going to a retread of a strangely off-form Lucy. Stayed for Lucy but there's only so much in your face, nudge nudge punning you can take in one go. The show's producer's must really get to grips with this presenter problem.

Owner occupied
Wouldn't it be better if when the show's researchers went down the auction they picked out those looking for a home? Instead of Mohammad or Joe who has 130 etc properties in their portfolio and done up all to look similarly boring then we could watch a couple renovate their new home in an interesting and individual style. Now there is a concept...

.......fast. Pack it in, or get rid of Marhell. Not the same without Lucy and Martin seems to be taking a back seat

Can't watch this program any more. Spoilt time and time again by monopolising Martel. If she isn't presenting she's doing someone else's talk over Enough is enough ! .
