Why can't they just use teletext subtitles instead? They can be switched on/off as needed and that would keep everyone happy?

Disagree..I paid a licence fee to enjoy a film with the kids and this wasn't possible. Enjoyment for the vast majority was ruined by a poor TV management choice of how to serve a tiny, but important minority. If you went to the cinema and the film was half size and signed, you would demand a refund. The TV powers that be should definately assign several spare/unnecessary channels (i.e. E4+1, ITV2+1 etc) for signed programmes - that way, everyone would be happy. And it's not realistic to go shopping for a £10-£15 DVD every time this occurs, for it only to be watched once - that's a waste. Let's hope the 2012 digital switchover sorts out this situation and gives all deserving minorities plenty of their own channels.

Great film, (re Signing issue, part of the message of this film is about tolerance for others & acceptance of what you can not change). If you had to rely on sign-language I am quite sure your option would defer. The licence fee like the BBC is for all. I hear there is always the option of the DVD if this continues to be an issue for you.

Kids & I cannot watch this film as the sign-language lady takes up half the screen is is totally distracting/irritating and the picture size has also reduced to half size! Sign-films should be screened at later times for recording or on the spare freeview channels instead !

I am a 25 year old lad.Pacino is my favourite actor. Yet, I cried at the end of this film. This is an emotional rollercoaster, and the tragic events that unfolded in the end left me reduced to tears. It really moved me. awesome script and movie, but not for those who like happy endings. it left me crying in my cornflakes. Be warned. Message to the writers, WHY? Did she really have to die? What a reality shock. Cheers for that. 10/10 tho. Sweet Sweet movie.
